Çağla graduated from Istanbul Bilgi University Law Faculty as the valedictorian of her class of 2017. She started her career in Erçin Bilgin Bektaşoğlu Law Firm and was admitted to the Istanbul Bar in 2018. She left the firm in 2021 to attend the Magister Juris (LL.M) programme of the University of Oxford. Her studies were funded by the UK Government’s Chevening scholarship programme. She graduated with a distinction degree. In 2022, she worked at the financial lines and political risks department of one of the leading insurance law firms in London as a part time litigation assistant for three months. Çağla re-joined Erçin Bilgin Bektaşoğlu in March 2024 after working for a leading independent law firm in Turkey for a year where she practiced dispute resolution, international trade and commercial law. 

 

Çağla is a part of Feyzi Erçin’s team and she specializes in insurance, reinsurance and aviation law. She has considerable experience in advising on insurance and reinsurance matters and complex coverage issues relating to liability policies, BBB policies, fire policies and property damage policies. She predominantly represents reinsurers from European and London markets in contentious issues, as well as contractual and regulatory matters.

 

Çağla has been recognized as one of the key lawyers of Erçin Bilgin Bektaşoğlu and was praised as “Cagla Usta did a good job. She very well explained the situation in Turkey and responded quickly to our questions. She is very communicative and cooperative” in 2022 edition of the transport law category of Legal 500.
