Ranked in the 2016 Edition of Legal 500 as having "very good knowledge of maritime and insurance law", Burcu Çelikçapa-Bilgin is a co-founder of the Firm. She graduated from the Istanbul University Law Faculty in 1996 and was admitted to the Istanbul Bar in 1997. She had training experiences at well-known Law Firms in Bremen and London in 1997 and 2001.

Burcu is specialised as a transport and insurance lawyer. She advises Clients in all areas of transport law, including road, rail, air, multi-modal transport, shipping, freight forwarding and logistics law. She has extensive litigation experience and represents local and foreign based liability and cargo underwriters in defending cargo claims and pursuing recovery actions. She is also instructed in major marine casualties, involving fire and explosions, grounding, collisions, salvage and general average. As a specialist in the field of insurance and reinsurance law, she advises national and international insurers in high-profile defence and coverage disputes as well as regulatory issues. She has a broad experience in all forms of liability insurance. 
 
Burcu has also a vast experience on general corporate law. She advises Clients in connection with selection of the right form of legal presence in Turkey and assists them in their company establishment procedure and with respect to ongoing corporate governance matters. In this regard, she represents the local establishments of leading suppliers of turbo machines, logistics service providers and tank container operators on regular basis. Burcu also advises them on drafting and negotiating various commercial contracts, including but not limited to procurement contracts, warehousing agreements, logistics contracts, employment agreements, rental contracts, distribution agreements, service agreements which are required during the course of their business.    
 
Burcu is also experienced in matters relating to defense industry. She advised major players in this sector before the Undersecretariat for Defense Industries in relation to significant defense procurement and modernisation contracts, especially in naval projects such as Mine Hunting Vessels, Torpedoes, LPD, MILGEM, New Type Submarine. Her experience is not only limited to advise Clients with regard to contractual and consultancy issues but also to represent them in Court and arbitration proceedings.  
 
Burcu is co-author of the Turkey section of Karl Heinz Thume’s “Kommentar zur CMR” as well as of the International Encyclopaedia for Transport Law.   
 
Burcu Bilgin was also recognised in the 2015 edition of the Legal 500 as a leading individual under the Transport section, and was praised as being “reliable and commercial”. She was recommended by Who’s Who Legal Transport 2015 in the shipping category for Turkey. She was also included in the Third Edition of Best Lawyers in Turkey in the practice area of Insurance Law.
